About this vest
A distressed brown leather vest with a stand collar and real pockets
The Men's Distressed Brown Leather Utility Cargo Vest is made from pull up cowhide, a waxed and oiled leather that lightens wherever it bends. That is why the brown is not one flat tone. The shoulders, the pocket flaps and the hem already carry the lighter marbling that most jackets take years to earn, every vest comes out slightly different, and the finish keeps moving as you wear it.
Built like a work jacket, cut like a vest
A stand up collar with a snap tab closes the neck against wind. The front runs on a brass zip with a snap over storm placket on top, so you can wear it zipped, snapped or open. Two shoulder yoke panels and a seamed back give it structure across the shoulders without adding bulk, and the hem sits at the belt line, so it works over a tee or under a riding jacket.
Five outside pockets, two inside
Two snap flap chest pockets, two deep snap flap cargo pockets at the waist, and a zip pocket set above the left chest flap for a phone or a passport. Inside there is a zip pocket on one side and a welt pocket on the other to keep a wallet and documents out of sight. The cargo pockets are gusseted, so they still close when they are full.
The lining and the feel
The body is lined in brushed cotton twill in a matching brown, warmer against the skin than satin and quiet when you move. The leather is soft enough to pack for a trip and firm enough to hold its shape on a hanger.

Standard sizes run S through 8XL on our men's chart. If you fall between sizes, or the chart does not cover your build, choose Custom in the size dropdown and send your chest, waist, back length and shoulder measurements in inches. We cut the pattern to those numbers, and if the finished vest does not match what you sent, we remake it free.
Care
Pull up leather is meant to mark. Wipe it with a damp cloth and let it dry away from heat. Condition it every three to six months if you want the colour to stay even, or leave it alone and let the high points keep lightening. Both are correct.

LeatherWhat is distressed pull up leather?
Pull up cowhide is waxed and oiled so that the oils move when the leather bends. Creases and high points lighten to a lighter brown, which is where the distressed look comes from. It is a natural finish, not a print, so no two vests are identical and the colour keeps developing as you wear it.
