There's something about a black western vest with lace sides that looks classic and timeless rather than trendy. The leather LMCV used on this is real cowhide with character not uniform, has some natural variation in the grain. The side lacing adjusts easily and holds where you set it. Ordered with a specific note about my waist vs chest ratio and they clearly incorporated that into the pattern. Arrived well packaged and fit perfectly. High recommend.
The side lacing on this vest is functional and looks great. I can adjust it depending on whether I'm wearing a t-shirt or a flannel underneath, which is something my old solid-side vest couldn't do. The leather is thick and has that western character to it not too polished, has some natural texture. The laces are real leather cord, not some synthetic string.

Western lace-up sides done right. The leather cord goes through clean eyelets that are reinforced no tearing or loosening after regular rides. The overall leather has some texture to it which I prefer over the smooth polished look. I ride in Texas heat and being able to loosen the sides for airflow matters.
