This is my second vest from LMCV and the quality is consistent. The black cowhide has a nice subtle grain that you can see in good lighting. Ordered a medium based on their size chart and the fit is exactly right. The leather is soft enough to be comfortable from the start but has enough body to hold its shape. The buttons are evenly spaced and lie flat no pulling or gapping at the closure which is a common issue with other button-front vests I've tried. The black is a true, deep black with a matte finish that looks very clean. Happy to recommend this one.
