LMCV stands for Leather MC Vest — and that name describes exactly what we do. We are a dedicated leather vest workshop that specializes in one product and one product only: premium custom-made leather motorcycle vests for men and women.

We do not sell jackets, bags, belts, or accessories. By narrowing our entire operation to a single product, we have spent two decades building deeper craft, tighter quality control, and more specialized expertise than generalist leather brands can offer.

Every vest we make is handcrafted to order from fresh-cut leather in our dedicated workshop — never pre-stocked, never mass-produced. We serve riders across all US states.

Our leather vest workshop has been operating since 2005 — over 20 years of dedicated leather craftsmanship. During that time, our artisans have cut and stitched leather vests every single day, building a depth of experience that simply cannot be shortcut.

In 2025, we launched our online store to bring our workshop’s output directly to American riders — eliminating the middlemen, wholesalers, and retailer markup that inflate prices without improving quality.

Our vests are handcrafted in our own dedicated workshop in Pakistan — a region with a 150-year heritage of producing some of the finest leather goods on earth. Pakistani leather craftsmanship supplies premium global brands across luxury fashion, motorcycle gear, and high-end accessories.

We are transparent about this because it is a strength, not a compromise. What separates LMCV from cheaper overseas alternatives is not the country — it is the 20 years of specialization, the single-product focus, and the quality control we enforce in our own facility.

We do not outsource, subcontract, or rotate between factories. Every LMCV vest is built in the same workshop, by the same craftsmen, using the same standards — every single order.

Made-to-order is not a marketing phrase for us — it is how we physically operate. We carry zero finished inventory. There are no vests sitting in a warehouse waiting to ship.

When your order is placed, our team selects a fresh hide specifically for your build, cuts the leather to your measurements, and assigns your vest to a craftsman who takes it from raw leather to finished product before handing it to our quality inspector. Only after passing inspection does it ship.

This is why our production window is 8 business days — that is the actual time it takes to build a vest from scratch, correctly.

A leather biker vest is a general-purpose riding vest worn for style, wind protection, and utility. It can be worn by any motorcyclist and usually has pockets, snap or zipper closures, and a back panel that may be blank or have decorative elements.

A leather MC vest — also called a “cut” or “club cut” — is specifically associated with motorcycle club culture. It is typically made from sturdier leather (often full-grain cowhide), features a full blank back panel specifically designed to display the club’s three-piece patch set (top rocker, center emblem, bottom rocker), and may have a side-lace or snap construction for adjustability under a club’s colors.

LMCV crafts both styles. If you are ordering a club cut, let us know in your order notes so we can configure the back panel and hardware correctly.

There are two ways to order a custom vest from LMCV:

1. Select a product from our collections and choose your size, leather type, and color at checkout. Add any special instructions in the order notes field (hardware finish, pocket configuration, blank back panel for patches, etc.).
2. Email us at support@leathermcvest.com with your full specifications if you need something not available in our standard product options. We will send you a custom quote within 24 business hours.

When emailing a custom order, include: your gender and intended fit (men’s/women’s), leather type preference, color, size or measurements, closure style, hardware finish, pocket requirements, and any embroidery or patch details. Reference images are always welcome.

Almost every aspect of your vest can be customized:

• Leather type: Full-grain cowhide, top-grain cowhide, buffalo, lambskin, goat, sheepskin, deer, or shearling
• Color: Classic black, various shades of brown, distressed/vintage finishes, natural tan, and other colors on request
• Size: Standard sizing from XXS to 8XL, or fully custom measurements (chest, waist, back length, shoulder width)
• Closure style: Snap-front, button-front, full-zip, side-lace, or combination
• Hardware finish: Antique silver, antique brass, gunmetal, or flat black
• Lining: Satin, mesh (for airflow), quilted, or shearling interior
• Pockets: Standard exterior hand pockets, interior chest pockets, concealed carry pockets, phone pockets, document pockets
• Back panel: Blank (for your patches), decorative stitching, or custom embroidery
• Patches & embroidery: Pre-attached patches you mail to us, or custom embroidery applied directly to the leather

Yes, absolutely. We handle MC club patches in several ways:

• Blank back panel: We leave the back panel completely open and unsewn so you can attach your own three-piece patch set (top rocker, center patch, bottom rocker) using your club’s standard method.
• Pre-attached patches: Mail your patches to us before we begin production and we will sew them onto the vest during the build process for a professional, integrated look.
• Custom embroidery: We can embroider names, numbers, logos, or club insignia directly onto the leather — no patches required. This works especially well for names, prospect labels, or road names on the front panels.

Tell us your preference when placing your order. If your club has specific placement requirements for rockers (size, position, stitching type), include those details in your order notes or email.

Yes, and we actively encourage it. Reference photos, sketches, screenshots of vests you like — anything that helps communicate your vision is useful. Attach images to your email at support@leathermcvest.com and describe what you like about each reference (the collar shape, the pocket placement, the hardware finish, etc.).

We will reply with a description of how we will interpret your references, so you can confirm or adjust before production starts. This alignment step is how we avoid misunderstandings.

Our cancellation window is very tight because we begin production within 24 hours of receiving your order.

• Within 24 hours of order: Full refund — production has not yet started.
• 24–48 hours after order: Refund minus a 15% processing fee (leather may already be cut for your build).
• After 48 hours: Cancellation is no longer possible — your vest is in active production with materials committed to your specifications.

If you need to cancel, email support@leathermcvest.com immediately with “URGENT CANCELLATION” in the subject line and your order number in the body.

No minimum order. Whether you need one vest or fifty, we give every order the same attention and craftsmanship. Single custom orders are our standard — we built our entire operation around individual, one-of-a-kind builds.

Our standard vest pricing starts at approximately $135 and ranges to $286+, depending on the style, leather type, and size. You can browse current prices directly in our collections.

For fully custom orders beyond what our catalog offers — exotic leathers, large embroidery, unusual sizing, multi-panel patchwork — we provide a custom quote after reviewing your specs. Email support@leathermcvest.com and we will reply within 24 hours with a detailed price.

Accurate measurements are critical for a leather vest — unlike denim or cotton, leather does not stretch to accommodate sizing errors. Take measurements with a soft tape measure, ideally with a second person helping:

• Chest: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms, keeping the tape horizontal. Keep arms relaxed at your sides. This is your most important measurement.
• Waist: Measure around your natural waist, at the navel. For a vest, this determines how the lower panels fall.
• Back length: Measure from the base of your neck (where it meets your shoulders) straight down to where you want the vest to end — typically at or just below your beltline.
• Shoulder width: Measure from the edge of one shoulder to the edge of the other, across the back. This ensures the shoulder seams sit correctly.

We offer standard sizing from XXS through 8XL for both men’s and women’s vests — one of the widest size ranges available for custom leather vests. If your body proportions fall outside standard sizing (for example, long torso with a narrow chest, or a chest much larger than the standard proportions), we can build fully to your custom measurements at no additional charge for most styles.

Our size charts reflect American body proportions, not European or Asian sizing. If you have ordered from overseas leather brands before and found the sizing off, you may find our sizing fits more naturally.

The answer depends on the source of the fit issue:

• If we made an error (the vest dimensions don’t match what you submitted): We will remake or alter the vest at our expense, including return shipping. This is our error and our responsibility.
• If your measurements were incorrect: We offer paid alterations at a reduced rate. Contact us for a quote — alterations are typically more cost-effective than a full remake. You are responsible for return shipping in this case.
• If you ordered a standard size that doesn’t fit: Standard-size vests in unworn, original condition can be exchanged within 14 days of delivery. See our Refund & Return Policy for full exchange terms.

The most effective way to prevent fit issues is to submit your actual tape measurements rather than relying on your clothing tag size — clothing labels are notoriously inconsistent between brands and styles.

A well-fitted leather vest should be snug but not restrictive. Here’s what a proper fit looks like in practice:

• Shoulders: The shoulder seams should sit exactly at the edge of your shoulder bones — not falling down the arm, not pulling toward the neck.
• Chest: You should be able to take a full deep breath and raise your arms to handlebar height without the chest panel pulling or gaping.
• Back length: The back hem should reach your beltline or just past it — long enough to stay tucked at riding posture, not so long it bunches when seated.
• Front closure: Snaps or buttons should close without pulling the front panels apart. If you can see gaps between closed snaps, the chest is too small.

Yes. Our size range goes up to 8XL and we offer fully custom measurements for riders with non-standard proportions — long torsos, wide shoulders relative to chest, etc. Because every vest is made to order, building for a big and tall frame costs the same as a standard order for most styles.

For riders over 6’2″ or with a chest size above 60″, we recommend submitting your actual measurements rather than selecting a standard size, as standard sizing at the large end can still miss the mark on back length and shoulder width.

Yes. Our women’s vests are cut with a women-specific silhouette — waist tapering, adjusted shoulder-to-hem proportions, and styling details suited to women’s riding gear. We do not simply shrink men’s patterns for women’s orders.

We stock and work with multiple leather types. The right choice depends on how you ride and what you prioritize:

• Full-grain cowhide: Our standard for biker and MC vests. The strongest, most abrasion-resistant leather available. Develops a beautiful patina over time. Recommended for everyday riding and club use.
• Top-grain cowhide: Slightly smoother surface than full-grain, still highly durable. A good balance of refined appearance and toughness.
• Buffalo leather: Thicker and more textured than cowhide, with a distinct grain pattern. Heavier and exceptionally durable — popular for heavy riders and those in rougher riding conditions.
• Lambskin: The softest, lightest leather we offer. Extremely supple with a luxurious feel. Popular for women’s vests, fashion-forward styles, and lighter riding. Less abrasion-resistant than cowhide.
• Goat & sheepskin: Mid-range softness and durability, lighter than cowhide with a finer grain. Good for year-round riding in moderate climates.
• Deer leather: Naturally water-resistant, very soft, and highly breathable. A premium option for riders who value comfort in variable weather.
• Shearling: Leather on the outside, wool fleece on the inside. Our warmest option — built for cold-weather riding. Available for puffer and shearling vest styles.

Full-grain leather is the highest quality grade. It retains the complete outer layer of the hide — including the natural grain pattern with all its character marks (small scars, pore variations). It is the strongest layer of the hide and has the highest abrasion resistance. Over time, it develops a patina unique to the individual hide and becomes more beautiful with age.

Top-grain leather has had the very outer surface sanded and treated to remove surface imperfections, leaving a more uniform, consistent appearance. It is slightly thinner and more flexible than full-grain, and still very durable — but it does not develop the same depth of patina over time. Most premium leather goods use top-grain.

For a riding vest that will take daily use and become more distinctive over the years, we recommend full-grain cowhide. For a cleaner, more uniform look with still-excellent durability, top-grain is an excellent choice.

All LMCV vests use genuine animal leather — no PU, bonded leather, or synthetic substitutes. The leather type is specified on each product listing (cowhide, lambskin, buffalo, etc.) and that is exactly what goes into your vest.

When your vest arrives, genuine leather can be identified by: a natural, slightly irregular grain pattern (not perfectly uniform like faux leather); a distinctive leather smell that faux leather cannot replicate; slight natural variations in color and texture across the surface; and flexible panels that become more supple with wear rather than cracking or peeling like bonded or PU leather.

If you ever have a concern about the leather in your order, contact us with photos within 48 hours of delivery and we will address it immediately.

Our core color range includes:

• Classic black — the most popular choice for MC and biker vests. Takes patches and embroidery well.
• Dark brown — a rich, deep brown that ages beautifully into a darker patina.
• Medium brown / tan — more casual, great for western and everyday styles.
• Distressed / vintage finish — pre-aged surface treatment that looks like a well-worn vest from day one.
• Natural tan — undyed or lightly finished leather, develops its own unique patina fastest.
• Red, white, gray — available on select styles (see our catalog for specific products).

For a specific color not listed, email us — we work with dyed hides across a wider spectrum for custom orders.

Lining options include:

• Satin lining: The most common and popular choice — smooth, easy to put on over layers, and available in black or patterned finishes.
• Mesh lining: For maximum airflow in summer riding conditions. Significantly reduces heat buildup inside the vest.
• Quilted lining: Adds a small amount of insulation and a more structured interior feel.
• Shearling interior: Our warmest option for cold-weather riding vests.
• Unlined (raw leather interior): Available on request for a more traditional, minimalist construction.

Specify your lining preference when ordering. If none is specified, we default to satin lining.

Leather thickness varies by hide type. Our standard cowhide for motorcycle vests is typically 1.2–1.4mm for panels and 1.5–1.8mm for stress areas (shoulders, armholes). Buffalo leather runs heavier at 1.8–2.2mm. Lambskin is lighter at 0.9–1.1mm.

For club cuts and heavy-duty riding vests, we select hides toward the upper end of the cowhide range for maximum durability. For fashion and women’s styles, we use lighter-weight hides for better drape and comfort.

If you have a specific thickness requirement (for example, you need a very thick hide for heavy patch support), mention it in your order notes and we will select accordingly.

We use heavy-duty metal hardware throughout — no plastic components. Snaps are solid brass or zinc alloy with a deep-set socket that resists pulling out. Zippers are heavy-gauge YKK-equivalent metal zippers rated for thousands of cycles.

Hardware finish options include antique silver, antique brass, gunmetal, and flat black. All finishes are applied to metal — not painted plastic.

If any hardware fails within the first year of normal use, contact us and we will repair or replace it at no charge.

Here is the honest, complete timeline from order to delivery:

• Production: 8 business days (leather is selected, cut, stitched, inspected, and finished)
• Shipping to your door: 10+ business days via FedEx, DHL, or USPS
• Total from order to delivery: Approximately 3–4 weeks

Complex orders — heavy embroidery, unusual sizing, specialty leathers, or multiple simultaneous custom requests — may add 2–5 business days to the production window. We will notify you if your order requires extended production.

1. Order confirmed (Day 0): You receive an order confirmation email with your specs summarized. Review it immediately and contact us within 24 hours if anything is incorrect.
2. Production begins (Day 1): Your order enters our workshop queue. A craftsman is assigned and fresh leather is selected for your build.
3. Cutting (Days 1–2): The leather is cut to your measurements — panels, pocket sections, strap pieces, and hardware cutouts.
4. Stitching (Days 2–5): All components are stitched together. Pockets are constructed, linings are fitted, and hardware is mounted.
5. Finishing & inspection (Days 6–8): Edges are sealed and burnished. The completed vest undergoes a full quality inspection — hardware function, stitch integrity, measurement verification, surface inspection.
6. Shipping notification (Day 8–9): Your vest ships and you receive an email with your tracking number.
7. Delivery (Day 18–28 approx.): Your vest arrives at your door.

We do not offer a standard rush option because our production process cannot be meaningfully shortened without compromising quality. Each stage of construction requires proper curing, drying, and inspection time that cannot be skipped.

If you have a specific date requirement (a rally, a run, a milestone event), email us before placing your order at support@leathermcvest.com and let us check whether we can accommodate your timeline. We will always give you an honest answer rather than promise something we cannot deliver.

You will receive two automatic emails:

1. Order confirmation — immediately after your order is placed, summarizing your specifications.
2. Shipping notification — when your vest leaves our workshop, including your tracking number.

We do not send production-stage updates because our workshop operates at high volume and sending individual mid-production updates would slow the process. However, if you want a status check at any point, email us with your order number and we will reply within 24 hours with a current status.

Every LMCV vest passes a multi-stage inspection before it leaves our workshop:

• Leather inspection: The selected hide is reviewed for flaws, weak spots, or surface defects before cutting begins.
• Measurement verification: Cut panels are checked against your submitted measurements before stitching.
• Construction inspection: Stitch integrity, pocket alignment, and panel symmetry are checked mid-build.
• Hardware function test: All snaps, zippers, buckles, and closures are tested for smooth operation and secure seating.
• Final surface inspection: The finished vest is examined under good lighting for thread pulls, uneven edges, dye inconsistencies, or any detail that doesn’t meet our standard.
• Fit verification: Measurements of the finished vest are compared against your order before packaging.

A vest that does not pass all stages is sent back for correction before it ships. We would rather delay a shipment by one day than send a vest that isn’t right.

We currently ship to three destinations:

• United States — all 50 states including Alaska and Hawaii

Shipping costs:

• Orders over $300: Free shipping to all destinations
• Orders under $300: Shipping calculated at checkout based on package weight and destination
• No hidden handling fees — what you see at checkout is the final shipping charge

We ship via FedEx, DHL, and USPS depending on your location, order weight, and the most reliable route at time of dispatch. Every shipment includes full tracking.

You will receive a tracking number by email within 24 hours of your vest shipping. The tracking link will update in real time as your package moves through the carrier network.

If you have not received a tracking email within 48 hours of your expected ship date, contact us at support@leathermcvest.com with your order number and we will locate your shipment.

PO Box addresses are not accepted. FedEx and DHL cannot deliver to PO boxes. Please provide a full physical delivery address (street number, street name, unit/apartment number if applicable, city, state, ZIP code) at checkout.

APO, FPO, and DPO military addresses are accepted for US orders. These ship via USPS Military Mail. Delivery times to APO/FPO addresses may be longer than standard US domestic delivery.

We handle transit problems as follows:

• Lost packages: If tracking confirms your package is lost in transit, contact us within 14 days of the expected delivery date. We will work with the carrier to locate it. If confirmed lost, we will arrange a free remake at our expense.
• Stolen packages: If tracking shows delivery confirmed but the package is missing, file a claim with the carrier first. We will assist with documentation. Whether a replacement is issued depends on the carrier’s findings.
• Damaged in transit: Email us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of the damage and the packaging. We will arrange a free repair or remake, no questions asked.

If you notice a shipping address error, contact us immediately at support@leathermcvest.com with your order number and the correct address. We can update the address if the vest has not yet shipped.

Once a package has shipped, address corrections are subject to the carrier’s rerouting fees and are not always possible. LMCV is not responsible for packages undeliverable due to incorrect addresses submitted at checkout. If a package is returned to us due to an undeliverable address, the customer is responsible for the cost of reshipping.

Because every vest is custom-made to your specifications, we operate on a quality-guarantee model rather than standard open-ended returns. Here’s what that means in plain language:

• Defective vest / manufacturing error: Full refund or free remake — your choice. We pay return shipping.
• Wrong item shipped: Full refund or free remake. We pay return shipping.
• Vest doesn’t match your specifications: Free remake or repair at our expense.
• Standard size doesn’t fit (no defect): Exchange within 14 days, unworn, in original condition. You pay return shipping.
• Customer provided incorrect measurements: Paid alterations available at a reduced rate. No standard refund.
• Change of mind: Custom-made items cannot be returned for a change of mind. The leather has been cut and built specifically for you and cannot be resold.

2. Include in your email: your order number, full name, the reason for return, and photos of any defects or issues
3. Wait for our reply within 24 business hours — we will send you a Return Authorization Number (RA#) and return instructions
4. Pack the vest in its original packaging with all tags and labels intact
5. Ship using the provided address with a tracked service. Keep your tracking number.
6. Receive your refund or replacement within 5–10 business days of us receiving the returned vest

Once we receive your returned vest:

• Inspection: 3–5 business days
• Refund processing: 1–2 business days after approval
• Funds in your account: 5–10 additional business days (varies by your bank or card issuer)

Total time from when we receive the return to money in your account is typically 7–17 business days. Refunds are issued to your original payment method only — we cannot issue refunds to a different card or bank account.

Original shipping fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error (defective item, wrong item shipped).

Returned vests must meet all of the following conditions to be accepted:

• Unworn — no signs of use, stretching, or wear beyond trying it on briefly
• Tags and labels intact — all original LMCV tags must be attached
• Original packaging — returned in the same protective packaging it arrived in
• No odors — no smoke, perfume, food, body odor, or other scents absorbed into the leather
• No alterations — no patches attached, no embroidery added, no cuts or modifications
• Within 14 days — postmarked within 14 calendar days of your confirmed delivery date

Items that do not meet these conditions will be returned to you at your expense without a refund issued.

We are sorry if this happened — it is not the standard we hold ourselves to. Here’s what to do:

1. Inspect your vest within 48 hours of delivery and document any issues with clear photographs.
2. Email us at support@leathermcvest.com with photos of the defect, your order number, and a description of the issue.
3. We will respond within 24 business hours and offer you a choice of: free full remake, free repair, or full refund — whichever you prefer.

We cover all return shipping costs for defective items. You will receive a prepaid shipping label by email.

Yes — MC club vests (cuts) are one of our core specialties. We have built vests for independent riders, riding associations, and motorcycle clubs of all sizes.

For club orders, we can:

• Build all vests to a consistent club specification — same leather grade, same hardware, same panel configuration across the entire order
• Accommodate individual member sizing within the same batch, so each member gets a proper-fitting vest
• Leave back panels blank or configure them specifically for your three-piece patch layout
• Add prospect, hang-around, or officer designations on front panels via embroidery if required
• Attach patches you mail to us, or apply embroidery directly to the leather

When requesting a bulk quote, include: the number of vests needed, the standard specification for all vests (leather type, color, hardware, pocket configuration), individual member measurements, and your target delivery date.

We will respond with a full quote within 48 business hours, including a detailed production and delivery timeline for the complete order.

After we confirm your club order quote and you’re ready to proceed, we send you a measurement submission spreadsheet with one row per member. Each member fills in their chest, waist, back length, and any individual customization notes.

Every vest in a club order is cut to individual member measurements — we do not use a single standard size for everyone. This is how we ensure every member of the club has a vest that actually fits correctly.

Once we receive the completed measurement sheet, your production window begins from that date.

Yes. Many clubs order an initial batch and then place smaller follow-up orders as new members prospect and patch in. We maintain your club’s vest specifications on file after the first order so that subsequent orders match seamlessly — same leather batch grade, same hardware finish, same configuration.

Contact us to set up a club account if you expect ongoing orders. We will assign you a dedicated contact and ensure consistency across all future builds.

Yes. Member names, measurements, patch designs, and club specifications submitted for custom orders are handled as confidential business information. We do not share, sell, or publish client specifications. We do not use club colors or insignia in any marketing without explicit written permission.

Routine cleaning keeps your vest looking great and extends its life significantly:

• Light dust and dirt: Wipe with a clean, dry microfiber cloth. For slightly more stubborn surface dirt, dampen the cloth with distilled water only — never tap water, which can leave mineral deposits.
• Sweat and grime buildup: Use a leather-specific cleaner (Leather Honey, Lexol, or Chamberlain’s) on a soft cloth. Apply in gentle circular motions, then wipe clean with a dry cloth. Never scrub — it damages the grain.
• Stains: For fresh stains, blot (do not rub) immediately with a clean cloth to absorb the liquid. For dried stains, use a leather cleaner. Oil-based stains may require a professional leather cleaner.

Conditioning replenishes the natural oils that keep leather supple and prevent cracking. How often you condition depends on how much you use the vest:

• Regular riding use: Condition every 3–4 months, or whenever the leather starts to feel stiff or look dry.
• Light occasional use: Once or twice per year is sufficient.
• After heavy rain or salt exposure: Clean first, let dry completely, then condition immediately.

Use a quality leather conditioner: Leather Honey, Bickmore Bick 4, or Lexol are all reliable options. Apply sparingly with a clean cloth, work in small sections, and buff off excess. Less is more — over-conditioning can soften the leather beyond its intended structure and reduce abrasion resistance.

Leather can handle rain, but it needs to be treated correctly afterward to prevent stiffening, cracking, or watermarks:

1. Shake off excess water immediately — do not wring or twist the vest.
2. Hang it on a padded hanger at room temperature in a well-ventilated area. Do not lay it flat — this causes the leather to dry unevenly.
3. Allow it to air-dry naturally. Do not use a hair dryer, radiator, space heater, or place it in direct sunlight — heat dries leather too fast and causes cracking and shrinkage.
